A violence started in Turkey on Friday after a peaceful sit-in at Gezi Park, a historic park, in capital Istanbul. The peaceful sit-in converted into violent clashes between Turkish Police and protesters in minutes.
As Turkish Prime Minister Recep Taaip Erdogan openly blamed and accused social media especially Twitter for all that demonstartion. The violence was all around in the streets of the city. The PM Taaip Erdogan Blamed Twitter as, "There is now a menace which is called Twitter", Taaip said on Sunday. "The best examples of lies can be found there. To me, social media is the worst menace to society."
After that statement of Taaip Erdogan, police arrested around 25 people who were involved in enraging the society agains the governmet on Twitter. According to the Police, the tweets were about, "misleading and libelous information."
Arround 29 arrests were made for tweeting a picture in which Turkish Police was attacking and following two girls. Although the rumour is still uncertain.
According to an official named Ali Engin , from an oppositon party, that the 25 arrests were made that people were involved in for "calling on people to protest." According to Ali Engin, "If that’s a crime, then we all did it," and those 25 people didn't do any different from the rest of the people, he said.
However there could be a different possibility of those arrests if the above reason is quoted for those arrests.
The picture of those girls was shared on twitter with link pic.twitter.com/kUUjr9zvxG.
